Isparta, Kuyucak, the Black Sea

The brand is not a historical exercise. The plants Bithyné works with are still grown by Anatolian farmers today. Isparta supplies roughly sixty percent of the world's rose oil. Kuyucak in southwest Turkey is a lavender region. The Black Sea hinterland brings hazelnut, laurel, hawthorn.

The modern Turkish layer is the living one — the cooperatives, the small distilleries, the regional Anadolu Şifalı Bitkiler (Anatolian healing plants) tradition that today's herbalists still teach.
