Otra — Saffron-Milk Mask

The Persian bridal preparation — five saffron threads, warm milk, the longest ritual of the wedding week.

For

Gentle brightening and calming — for the day before a special occasion; reduces redness, evens skin tone, soothes inflammation. Avicenna's recipe, still in use.

Where it comes from

Avicenna's eleventh-century Canon of Medicine includes the saffron-milk preparation. The recipe travelled from Bukhara through Anatolian apothecaries into Ottoman bridal practice, and remains a standard preparation in modern Iranian households.
