Older than every capital — Salvia was recorded on Hittite tablets at Hattuša, ~3.500 years ago.
Salvia officinalis is among the oldest documented Anatolian healing plants. Hittite cuneiform tablets from Hattuša name it and prescribe it. The continuous practice has not broken since.
On the skin, sage is clarifying, mildly astringent, cool. In bath and hair traditions it has carried for millennia. Bithyné's Sage Blanc line draws directly from this Hittite-Anatolian lineage.
Properties: clarifying, gently antibacterial, settling. Traditional uses span skin tonic, hair rinse, bath infusion, throat care.
